BUG OUT! At the Opening Party for Peter Kuper's adaptation of Kafka's METAMORPHOSIS
Tuesday August 12th, 6-8 PM
MoCCA Headquarters
32 Union Square East, Suite 600
(Take the north/left elevators), N.Y.C.
Franz Kafkas THE METAMORPHOSIS is among the most famous stories of the last century. Acclaimed graphic artist Peter Kuper has created a kinetic illustrated adaption of the story. Kupers electric drawings where American cartoons meet German expressionism bring Kafkas prose to vivid life, reviving the original storys humor and poignancy in a way that will surprise and intrigue readers of Kafka and comics alike.

Peter Kuper will be on hand to sign THE METAMORPHOSIS as well as GIVE IT UP!, his first collection of Kafka short stories, published by NBM. A show of original art from both books will be on display as well as his other originals - including SPY VS. SPY - that will be for sale to benefit MoCCA. Complimentary beverages and refreshments will be served.
"By adapting Franz Kafka's "The Metamorphosis" into the graphic narrative form Peter Kuper took enormous risks and dared appalling failure but he doesn't put a foot wrong, meets every challenge brilliantly and has succeeded in giving us one of the best examples of this difficult art produced to date"
- Gahan Wilson
"Peter Kuper's adaptation of Kafka's Metamorphosis is as unique as the bizarre story His style transmits the horror of this classic."
- Will Eisner
"...Kafka's stoic Euro-alienation meets and merges with Kuper's thoroughly American rock and roll alienation..."
- Jules Feiffer
